A restrospective collection of ideas
Hello!
Thank you for visiting my website! This virtual space has had many incarnations since 2010, when I dared to venture into the mysteries of web design for the first time. So much has changed since then.
In the Fall of
2017, I decided it was time for knowledge and skills upgrade and enrolled in the Mobile Application Design and Development program, at Algonquin College, in beautiful Ottawa. It would be an eye-opener experience after having left the
university classrooms 23 years ago. For starters, I was the oldest mature one of my class.
However, becoming a developer-in-training did not mean that I was planning for my media expertise to fade into oblivion.
On the contrary. It was a career move aiming to add to my almost three-decades spanning professional life. .
Since 1994, I decided to focus on professional photography. Little did I knew then that I would end up shifting from Hasselblad to DVCPRO cameras for ten years. The former, film, the latter, video.
Along came 2004, and my first
media studio opened for photo and video services. Studio Six operated for six years in the province of Alberta covering fine portraiture, industrial, commercial, advertising, and social photography. The Husky Oil Upgrader also trusted
us with corporate training video assignments.
In 2010, I decided I was ready to share business experiences and production advice to younger generations. Durham College was my academic home for five years, during which I was
invited to teach advanced classes in lighting, Photoshop, Premiere, and fundamentals of Photography techniques.
A commercial real estate photography contract relocated me to the nation’s capital in 2015, and it also opened
doors for me to teach digital imaging editing and motion graphics at Algonquin College.
But all that is the serious business, there is a fun side for everything…
I’ve always believed in the subtleness complexity of visual and performing arts.
From action-packed rodeos, to the Zen tranquility of museum galleries, my cameras and I have witnessed an eclectic group of people, events, ideas, and feelings. Enjoy this greatest hit collection, featuring never before released images from now and then! All images © Cesar Juarez-Vargas
